Mi corazon esta en Mexico...

I'm here at Rancho 3M Orphanage in Guadalupe, Mexico for 6 weeks... these are my random thoughts and pictures from across the border :)

Just thought I would start this up and keep whoever wants to know up-to-date on what's going on down here. So bear with me...

I'm here at the ranch with 5 other "short-term interns" who are going to be here pretty much the same amount of time as I am. So on one hand it's going to be really nice to have people my own age to talk to in English, but on the other hand I know it will present challenges to all of us- to be humble, to serve each other, and to not be irritable with each other. Those of you who have been here before know the temptation even after just a week to be crabby and irritable- just imagine that with 5 weeks left to go.

I'm staying in the girls' dorm in a room with Molly- an intern from Baton Rouge, LA who is very similar to me. Our room already feels like home. It's going to be funtimes :)

So far I've been working in the office with Hermano Dean for most of the days... contributor statements, stuffing envelopes, etc. etc. He is hilarious and makes everything more fun than it is. Also, being in the office allows me to see a lot of what goes on at the ranch. Everyone who comes in from the community comes to the office. Also it's a lot cooler than being outside.

I've had time to hang out with the kids, too, which I absolutely love. I love spending time with them, and I love them. But I'll write more about that later...
I love and miss you all already!

Hasta luego.
